The lesson I learned was that don't judge a book by its cover. Which is what happens in this story the kids in the story don't give the new kid a chance, but when they finally give a chance they find he's actually pretty cool. I would feel uneasy and scared if I were a new kid.
I learned that you shouldn't be mean to the new kid. Just because he looks weird or because you don't know him, you should get to know him because he sounds cool. If I was the new kid, I would be scared and nervous. Natalie
I learned that just because he is the new kid you should be nice and that you should not be mean because he has different looks and talks different. If I was the new kid I would be scared, left out, nervous, and feel different. -Alec

The lesson was that you don't be mean to someone because of how he/she looks. If I was the new kid I would be nervous and left out.

The lesson I learned is that it doesn't matter who you are, you should still be able to fit in! sydney
